Andrea the Signer of the well known Colombian music group Los aterciopelados sends a message (video) to The Charlotte Community.

The Latin American Festival - one of Charlotte’s signature cultural events- attracts thousands of individuals from our multicultural community to enjoy local, national and internationally known musicians, handmade arts and crafts, authentic Latin American cuisine, traditional folkloric dance performances and children’s activities and performances. A true cultural experience for all.

We are proud to have Aterciopelados,  recognized by TIME magazine as one of the top 10 contemporary global bands, as our headliner for this year’s 21st anniversary. Aterciopelados engages audiences all over the world with their socially-conscious message. Honored by the United Nations for their work denouncing violence in Colombia, Aterciopelados speaks out about myriad issues including political injustice, women's rights, and environmental destruction.
